Variety is reporting that Dimension Films is already looking at a sequel to the non-blockbuster but well received Piranha 3D. Though the film opened at No. 6 (somewhat low for something to get a sequel green lit so quickly), reviews have been quite positive.
It looks as though Mark Canton will produce again but it's a little soon to have word yet on who will direct or even write the script.
Seem's the Weinstein's are at it again. LA Times are reporting that the Weintein Co.'s has moved the release date of Piranha 3-D from April 16 to sometime in August at the earliest.
Weinstein Co. said it was relocating Piranha 3-D, so that it wasn't competing Lionsgate's movie Kick-Ass, which also opens that weekend and may appeal to the same young demographics.
