www.bloody-disgusting.com  is reporting that Universal Pictures is looking to restart Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles.  Guess the success of Twilight isn't all bad.

The role of Lestat may be performed by Mr. ROBERT DOWNEY JR. Considering the popularity of Mr. Downey Jr. at the moment, I don't think this is at all a bad idea. The Vampire Chronicles is a series of novels by Anne Rice that revolves around the fictional character Lestat de Lioncourt, a French nobleman made into a vampire in the 18th century.

Being a fan of the novels by Anne Rice, I do hope that this project does come to fruition.  I just wonder where in the storyline they would make the movie from.  Restart at the beginning?  Go from the 4th novel?
