Continuing with our coverage of the 2010 People’s Choice Awards we move into the television categories. I don’t get to catch a lot of television with my hectic life but I do try and catch some tv time whenever I can. If you haven’t already, you can vote for them here.

Favorite TV Drama
CSI
Grey’s Anatomy
House
Lost
NCIS

Hands down I’m going with Lost here.  I’m sure the other shows are fine but there’s two doctor programs and two crime dramas.  Lost is just such a bizarre and interesting show.

Favorite TV Comedy
The Big Bang Theory
Desperate Housewives
How I Met Your Mother
The Office
Two and a Half Men

Lots of good comedy and though I’ve only really seen enough episodes of Two and a Half Men to make a proper judgment, I’m going to pick How I Met Your Mother as the few episodes of that I did see were very good compared to the few episodes I’ve seen of the other shows.

Favorite TV Drama Actor
Hugh Laurie
Kiefer Sutherland
Mark Harmon
Matthew Fox
Patrick Dempsey

Again there are lots of good choices in this category.  I’ll go with my country and pick Kiefer.  Gotta love Kiefer’s voice!

Favorite TV Drama Actress
Anna Paquin
Blake Lively
Jennifer Love Hewitt
Katherine Heigl
Mariska Hargitay

Hmmmmm the genre fan in me wants to chose Paquin and the critic in me wants to chose Heigl.  Ummmmm I’ll just split it down the middle and go with Jennifer Love Hewitt.

Favorite TV Comedy Actor
Alec Baldwin
Charlie Sheen
Jim Parsons
Neil Patrick Harris
Steve Carell

NPH for the win!  That guy cracks me up everywhere I see him.

Favorite TV Comedy Actress

Alyson Hannigan
America Ferrera
Amy Poehler
Eva Longoria Parker
Tina Fey

I’ll have to go with my not so secret crush, Alyson Hannigan.  Sorry ladies, you just don’t compare.

Favorite TV Obsession
Dexter
Gossip Girl
The Hills
The Secret Life of the American Teenager
True Blood

I’ve only seen two out of the five here and out of those two Dexter is my choice.  Who am I kidding… Dexter would have been my choice had I seen all of them.  I love that show!

Favorite Competition Show
American Idol
Dancing with the Stars
Project Runway
So you Think you can Dance
Survivor: Samoa

I don’t watch much reality television but my mother and sister do which means whenever I visit them, I get to watch it.  Yay me!  Survivor was awesome when it started but nothing new has really happened on there.  I couldn’t care about the “drama” on the show as I was always more interested in the games and such.  I think I’ll have to go with my educational background here and choose American Idol.

Favorite New TV Drama
Eastwick
Flashforward
The Forgotten
The Goodwife
Melrose Place
Mercy
NCIS: Los Angeles
Three Rivers
V
The Vampire Diaries

I haven’t seen any of these shows yet.  Want to check out V but it’s getting panned by  critics and friends alike.  Vampire Diaries looks like a lame duck version of True Blood. Eastwick looks like a Charmed knockoff. The Forgotten looks a little like Gone Without a Trace. I don’t think we need another hospital show. Melrose Place has already been done. NCIS is a spin off.  So I’m left with The Goodwife which didn’t exactly look interesting to me and Flashforward which I think I may actually check out.  So with that being said, Flashforward gets my pic here.

Favorite New TV Comedy
Accidentally on Purpose
Brothers
The Cleveland Show
Community
Cougar Town
Glee
Hank
The Middle
Modern Family

Haven’t seen most of these but I did check out Glee and I’m quite enjoying it which doesn’t happen often with comedies for me.  Glee is something I’d recommend so I’ll happily vote for it.

Favorite Animal Show
Animal Cops
Dog Whisperer
Dogtown
It’s Me or the Dog
Rescue Ink Unleashed

What kind of category is this?  I’ve heard of one show but have never actually watched any of them.  Since Rescue Ink sounds like a show about tattoos I’ll take that one (and I like the logo better than the rest).
