Zelda Rubinstein, possibly best known for her role in the Poltergeist series, passed away Wednesday at the age of 76.

The actor was hospitalized two months ago after suffering a mild heart attack and rumours had been spreading across the net that she was close to death but her agent, Eric Stevens, has now confirmed she passed away of natural causes at Barlow Respiratory Hospital in Los Angeles.

She will be greatly missed. Her likeness and voice made her one of a kind.

twitch is reporting that a new Gremlins film is in the works.  And it looks as though it's going to get the 3D treatment.  I'm ok with films getting released in 3D.  Some of them I'll check out in the format, others I'll stick to the 2D version.  Gremlins on the other hand, will be a sure fire 3D hit in the campiest ways.  There is so many great 3D gags you can do with a Gremlins film.

I'm a little late yet again (it's becoming a regular thing it seems) to report on the winners of the 2010 People's Choice Awards. The winners were announced on January 10, 2010 and I don't think there were many surprises this year.

The following is a list of winners and who I voted for.

MOVIES
Favorite Movie Actor
Winner: Johnny Depp
My Choice: Same... Johnny Depp

Favorite Movie Actress
Winner: Sandra Bullock
My Choice: Partially agree with the people but I chose Anne Hathaway in the end.

During an interview with MTV, Ivan Reitman confirmed that he will be Producing and Directing the new Ghostbusters film. He stated that he hopes to begin shooting the film in 2010 which gives support to Writer Harold Ramis' comments about a planned 2011 release date. I just hope they don't rush through the film and take their time to deliver the smash hit we all want to see. But, it is good to see that the old gang is going to be back...

Seem's the Weinstein's are at it again. LA Times are reporting that the Weintein Co.'s has moved the release date of Piranha 3-D from April 16 to sometime in August at the earliest.

Weinstein Co. said it was relocating Piranha 3-D, so that it wasn't competing Lionsgate's movie Kick-Ass, which also opens that weekend and may appeal to the same young demographics.

David Glaser, a senior...

STYD is reporting that Resident Evil is no longer going to be released in January 2011. It was rumoured that the film was pushed back in order to give the Director more time in order to release the film in 3D.

Of course, opening the film in January 2011 would have put the film up against MGM's 3D horror flick Cabin in the Woods from Joss Whedon. If there's one thing studios know it's that you don't want to put one genre film up against another unless it's near Hallowe'en AND especially so if both...

People is reporting that Michael C. Hall, star of the hit television series Dexter, has been battling cancer. Luckily for fans of the series (and Michael of course), he's almost finished with treatment and the disease is in remission.

Hall plans to attend the Golden Globes on Sunday (he's nominated for best dramatic actor and the show's up for best drama) as well as the Screen Actors Guild Awards the following Saturday.

We can only wish Michael all the best and hope he beats this disease...
